Laila Carlsen's work strives to capture the impossible. That split second after waking from a dream when we can still remember our trip through the other world.She is able to capture this world between worlds on canvas. The figures that appear in her work renders the person inside the model,their soul or spirit, if you will. Both timeless and eternal, her paintings together create a sense of haunting beauty and mystery in which many who see her world, want to visit and somehow subconsciously recognize within themselves.
