IRA REINES. Esculturas

Biography:
Ira Reines was born in New York, New York on December 3, 1957. The worlds of fantasy and mythology and the works of Michelangelo, Rodin, and Bernini fueled the imagination of Reines and encouraged him to create elaborate bronzes and to begin to accept private and commercial commissions. In 1980, Ira Reines’ career got a tremendous boost when he was hired to work with Art Deco Master Erte, considered by many as the father of Art Deco. Ira worked closely with Erte, translating the master’s two-dimensional designs into seventy bronze sculptures that were sold world-wide...//

...// This symbiotic association with Erte lasted eleven years, up until Erte’s death in 1991. During this period, Reines’ skills and personal style in fine art sculpting began to evolve, undergoing a metamorphosis from classical mythological themes to more contemporary ones. The sculptures of Ira Reines have now progressed to the point of being referred to as “Sculptural Etherealism”, delicate and intricately formed figures of near-perfect beauty, often in poses of extreme balance, sometimes emerging as-if in the process of creation, and replete with beauty and spirituality. Beauty born of chaos, form created from formlessness, for Reines feels that “Beauty is a perfect reflection of divinity.”

ALISON JOHNSON

BIOGRAPHY:
Alison Johnson is originally from Sheffield, where she gained a BA Hons degree at Sheffield University and is also a qualified nurse. She moved down to the Midlands 8 years ago and now lives in Kenilworth. Her work reflects experiences, which explore the power of nature and layers of inter-connectivity, anatomy, mortality and the fragility of life. She loves to create work that is decorative and surreal, feminine and sometimes sculptural. Alison layers her paint, building gestural marks.

CARLOS PAEZ VILARO

BIOGRAFIA:
Carlos Páez Vilaró nació en Montevideo, Uruguay, el 1º de noviembre de 1923.
Marcado por una fuerte vocación artística partió en su juventud a Buenos Aires, donde se vinculó al medio de las artes gráficas, como aprendiz de cajista de imprenta en Barracas y Avellaneda. A su regreso al Uruguay, en la década del 40, motivado por el tema del candombe y la comparsa afro-oriental y vinculándose estrechamente a la vida del conventillo “Mediomundo”, entra de lleno a manifestarse en el campo del arte.
Con pasión desenfrenada, Páez Vilaró se entregó totalmente al tema, pintando decenas de cartones, componiendo candombes para las comparsas lubolas, dirigiendo sus coros, decorando sus tambores o actuando como incentivador de un folklore que en ese momento luchaba por imponerse contra la incomprensión.
Lavanderas, velorios, Navidades, mercados, bailongos a la luz de la luna, poblaron los cartones y lienzos de Páez. Agotado el tema, fue inevitable su partida hacia Brasil, donde iniciaría un largo viaje a través de todos aquellos países donde la negritud tenía fuerte presencia: Senegal, Liberia, Congo, República Dominicana. Haití, Cameroun, Nigeria…
En ese periplo pintó centenares de obras, realizó múltiples exposiciones y dejó su sello en monumentales murales. Se ha volcado a la pintura, escultura, cerámica, cine y literatura de tal manera y con tanta pasión que dejó en cada arte huellas imborrables.
Conoció a Picasso, Dalí, De Chirico y Calder en sus talleres y vivió con el Dr. Albert Schweitzer en el leprosario de Lambaréné.
Páez Vilaró, integrando la Expedición Francesa “Dahlia”, logró realizar en Africa, el film “”Batouk”, distinguido para clausurar el Festival de Cannes. En toda su vasta trayectoria de realizaciones y a pesar de los viajes y los cambios experimentados en su pintura durante el medio siglo de acción, el artista mantuvo con firmeza su lealtad al tema afro-uruguayo, al que le sigue dedicando las mejores horas o acompañándolo a tambor batiente cuando cada año se celebra la ceremonia de “las llamadas”.
El conventillo “Mediomundo”, punto de arranque de su obra, fue demolido y con él, su riquísimo historial. Páez Vilaró, radicado finalmente en Punta Ballena, Uruguay, tiene su taller en la cúpula mayor de Casapueblo, su “escultura habitable”, modelada con sus propias manos, sobre los acantilados que miran al mar en Punta Ballena.
Falleció a los 90 años el día 24 de Febrero del año 2014.

Hoy...24 de febrero de 2014, en tan penoso dia para el mundo del Arte, rendimos de esta manera nuestro humilde homenaje de quien en vida fuera un gran artista y mejor persona: Carlos Paez Vilaro. Ya se ha inmortalizado a través de los tiempos dejando sus huellas plasmadas en sus obras. Adios querido Maestro.

IRINA KRUGLOVA

Biography:
Kruglova Irina was born on August 22, 1981 in Lithuania in Kaunas. At 10 she moved with her parents to Ulyanovsk. Four years of studying music in piano. Although the music and attracts Irina, she realizes that this is not her path. In 15 years a lot of paint and begins to realize his true calling. Her artistic mission, as she herself feels, is serving beauty. From 1998 to 2002, studying at the School of Culture, at the Ulyanovsk branch of a graphic designer, where the emphasis is placed on the easel painting and drawing. Irina ends the School of Culture with honors. In 2002, with his mother holding a solo exhibition Kruglovs.
Since 2012 Member P.S.N.H. Professional Union of Independent Artists.
