Dale Landrum was originally from California. He has been an Oregon resident since 1990. He traces his earliest artistic influences to charcoal figure drawings, and notebooks of colorful “Hollywood Era” fashion illustrations done by his mother. Airplanes captured his interests at a young age and this is where he developed an interest for drawing that continued through the years and later on led him to painting on canvas. At the age of 21, he left Southern California, settling near Eureka, California and continued his college education at Humboldt State University. He graduated with a B.S. in the natural sciences, attended graduate school, and worked for the federal government as a botanist prior to his full-time painting in oils.
