Biography:
Born in Kiev in 1975, Anton Yakutovych, Ukrainian painter, lives and works in Paris. He grew up in an artists' family, and graduated from the National Academy of the Arts and Architecture of Kiev. Anton has been practicing drawing, etching, lithography and painting since his early childhood. For him, these disciplines are complementary and about them he says: «graphic arts maintain rigour, painting, a spirit of freedom ".
The artist begins his creation from a questioning, a vague sensation. Then, comes a set of work of tones, information, crossings, all together in rhythm and musicality. All along, arises a process of reflexion, a journey between the "doing" and the "seeing" until a balance is found. In his creation, Anton is inspired by the mechanisms of reality that he uses as a base to his imagination. And from there, the work spreads into a space that becomes playful, suggestive of the carefree life of childhood, delicious and completely surprising.
