Philippe Faraut Sculptor

Biogtraphy:
Philippe Faraut, Portrait Sculptor. Philippe Faraut is a figurative artist specializing in life-size portrait sculptures and monumental stone sculptures. His media of choice are water-based clay and marble. From his extensive research of the human face he developed a technique of modeling the portrait that he shares with his sculpting students during his numerous sculpting classes and seminars taught throughout the US. In order to assist his students, Philippe has created a set of sculpting supplies, an instructional sculpting video series and two sculpting books detailing his process for portraiture in clay. Artists in fields such as illustration, sculpture, forensic reconstruction, art education and film and theater utilize his three-dimensional masks as reference for the aging process and in-depth studies of expression. As an award-winning stone sculptor specializing in representational art, Philippe feels that the renewed interest and willingness of artists to return to the study of the human form has the potential to bring back to our society an appreciation for traditional beauty. Philippe and his wife Charisse are committed to creating unique specialty teaching materials for their company PCF Studios, Inc. All tools and casts are designed and made locally at their Honeoye studio. They also oversee the quality and printing of their books and DVD productions by printing in New York State.

Biography:
Nik Helbig. Art is free. My paintings are about the human emotion. Uncomplicated and direct. I have intended for them to be so straight forward, they really do not need the titles. Like a song in an Andrew Lloyd Webber’s not-so-successful play, Aspects Of Love, goes, “when you know that those images mean… all the rest in subtext is obscene…” For me, creating emotion in paint is a welcome challenge. It is too easy to merely create forms and physical content. Everyone can do that. It is something else when a piece of art exudes its own essence. I believe it is the very “thing” that separates the great from the good. The other challenge I give myself when creating art is to turn melancholy on its head. My intentions are motivational, spiritual, zen. I believe in positives emerging from any setback. In that sense, I think myself different from other artists. If you see pain in my picture, look for the light. It is always there. These paintings are created with the intention to transform rooms into breathing, living spaces. The strokes and resonating colors speak to the subconscious to bring about positive effects and luxurious ambience.

Biography:
Myriam de Lafforest,Reims, France, 1973. An emerging French artist who now lives and works in Spain, Myriam de Lafforest works in bronze. Her figurative sculptures are simultaneously graceful and strong. She grew up in a family of artists and soon realized the importance art would have on her life. After receiving a doctorate in psychology from the University of Psychology in Angers, France, de Lafforest moved to Spain. There she met sculptor Salvador Mañosa who became her mentor, bringing her back to the world of art. Now she unites art with her education in psychology through art therapy, helping children and young adults use sculpture as a means to express their thoughts and emotions. de Lafforest says of her work: ?I never know before starting a piece how it will turn out. The clay itself plays with my hands and shows me the way towards a work, towards a form or a movement. Once finished, I understand the existence of this particular piece. I think that my art is expressive because it comes from inside me, from my intuition, emotions, and everyday experiences.

Artista Philippe Jacquot

Biography:
Philippe Jacquot, born April 23, 1966, painted from an early age. Soon, his favorite theme is the representation of characters. It searches the phrase as well as in the portraits in the nude. Self-taught, he works the pencil, pastel, chalk, oil and acrylic. After passing through the decoration is in 1990 he decided to devote himself exclusively to his art. Past experience allows him to control the paint on glass, sheet metal, as well as bonded materials, giving it the opportunity to get out of the conventional support of the canvas and paper. His work is oriented mainly towards the portrait, the nude and still life. In each work, it looks aesthetics, lightness, softness and subtlety through the curve and work light. His themes are universal: the weather, elements, seasons, balance… It shows the characters and objects through the drapes, which makes them mysterious. These are made of cloth like jeans are painted on canvas jeans. With this method, Philippe Jacquot wants to express the ambiguity between truth and falsehood, reality and fantasy, an illusion. His constant search for new subjects, atmospheres and original techniques, the results to create a series of paintings that may have no link between them. He paints freely according to his mood and inspiration by making fun of the conventions. It is not locked into a so-called “style”, the opening leads to evolution. Although figurative, the composition of his works allows everyone to engage in its own interpretation, leaving the way open for his imagination. They are open on a journey to the strange.
